The primary challenge on this project centered on severe subfloor irregularities across a 10,000 sq. ft. space. The floor was significantly uneven, sloping drastically from the sliding door all the way to the entry door, which threatened to compromise the stability and alignment of the final flooring installation.
To address the dramatic slope, Diamond Construction collaborated closely with the general contractor to map out a precise corrective strategy. Utilizing an advanced laser level, the crew meticulously set up a system of string lines across the space. This acted as an exact, visible benchmark grid to guide pour depths ranging from 1⅛” to 1¾”, ensuring the leveling compound was placed to a perfectly uniform, flat plane relative to both doorways.
The engineered string-line system worked flawlessly, resulting in a perfectly leveled and smooth subfloor. By correcting the slope before the finished floor goods were laid, BoldStep provided the ideal substrate for a successful, beautiful final installation—delivering a flat, durable surface across the entire 10,000 sq. ft. footprint on schedule.
